The Devon Horse Show & Country Fair returns for its 130th anniversary. What began as a horse competition in 1896 has grown into the nation’s oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed horse show.
Here’s a short guide for what you need to know in time for the show, which runs from May 10 to May 31.
Wednesday evening kicks off festivities with an open bar, food, and an artist exhibition. The following days’ events get the ball rolling with a dog show, carnival rides, midway games, and shopping.
Equestrian enthusiast or not, the Devon Fries, lemon sticks, sweet tea, and the beloved Tea Cart continue to draw long lines and loyal fans.
The weekend brings family-friendly programming with children’s horse shows, a tea party, and carriage events through Tuesday.
The ever-popular Ladies Day festivities take place on May 27 and this year’s outfit theme is “Retro Runway.” Elite riders and world-class horses are present throughout the show, but the Sapphire Grand Prix Event is something everyone looks forward to.
The final weekend brings more equine-related events, and the Phillie Phanatic will even make an appearance on May 30.
New additions are joining the mix this year alongside the traditions that have made Devon a staple of Main Line culture for generations, keeping the event as fresh yet familiar.
