USA Today has announced the top 10 finalists in its “Best Gas Station for Food” competition, writes Bill Shannon for WTAJ, as printed in yahoo! news.
Delaware County-based Wawa, Altoona-based Sheetz, and York-based Rutter’s are all in the running,
It’s Wawa’s first time on the Top 10, according to USA Today’s prior lists of top 10 winners going back to 2023.
“Wawa offers traditional gas station food and beverages, but it’s beloved for its wide variety of hot foods, including made-to-order breakfast sandwiches, hoagies, burgers, pizzas, soups, and salads. Their customizable kids’ meals are popular for road-tripping families,” reads the USA Today description for Wawa.
For Wawa’s friendly competitor, Sheetz, USA Today reports a “consistent, fresh, and affordable menu.”
The news publication features the top 10 best on its site and is accepting votes for the top contender through Monday, May 4.

The three Pennsylvania retailers do face national competitors. Also in the finals are national brands 7-Eleven and Buc-ee’s. Royal Farms, Kwik Trip, and Circle K.
USA Today reports that the nominations came from “a panel of seasoned road warriors” from gas station stops across the U.S.
