Malvern Party Barn Combines Rustic Interiors with Event-Ready Functionality

Carrying on the British trend, this Malvern “Party Barn” provides a cozy gathering space complete with amenities for an overnight event.

A unique Malvern barn combines cozy living with amenities for the perfect party, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for Main Line Today.

Inspired by a British trend of converting estate barns into gathering spaces, the Malvern “party barn” serves as an external living space and guesthouse separate from the property’s main house. The barn is fitted with comfortable furniture, a modern kitchen, overnight lodging, and plenty of open space for a functional event and hosting venue.

R.A. Hoffman Architects designed the project, and B&D Builders of Lancaster County managed the construction.

At 3,200 square feet, the party barn is larger than most standard houses. Inspired by rural Chester County, the interior detailing includes cedar siding and roofing, natural stone, wrought iron, and a red barn door on the bathroom.

The great room serves as the main entertaining space, complete with leather chairs and a large couch below exposed beams.

The kitchen features a large center island, a fieldstone backsplash, and a built-in pizza oven. A separate dining space offers wrap-around seating surrounding a rustic wooden table.

The barn also houses two bedrooms with full bathrooms, offering luxurious options for an overnight stay.

Moving outside, the party barn connects to the main house through a covered breezeway that doubles as a porch for outdoor entertaining during warmer months.
