This Malvern Party Barn Turns Into Winter Wonderland During Holidays
The Canzanese party barn in Malvern built by B&D Builders turns into a true winter wonderland during the holidays, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for Main Line Today.
It’s an entertaining hub that hosts celebrations from Thanksgiving to New Year’s Day. It is as lofty as a traditional barn and outfitted with board-and-batten siding, simulated slate roof, and natural stone veneer.
The custom-built space boasts hand-forged, hammered-iron chandeliers that hang above the reclaimed oak flooring.
“The reclaimed floor and walls were a game changer,” said homeowner Vince Canzanese. “There’s just a very different feeling when you walk in, and the cathedral ceiling is incredible.”
The barn truly shines at Christmas, thanks to the many sparkling trees displayed in the main living space and the loft above the kitchen. Mary Canzanese hires a team from Terrain in Glen Mills each year to install seasonal plants and décor.
The family pays attention to every single detail, including the type of wood used in the fireplace.
“We put different woods in the fireplace, according to the season,” said Vince. “Birch pops more. Oak burns longer and hotter, so that’s better for a winter fire.”
