There is nothing quite like a comforting bowl of homemade pasta to warm up during the winter months, and Chester County restaurants offer no shortage of flavor when it comes to this classic meal, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.
Here are four restaurants offering delicious pasta options perfect for dining in or takeout.
Rivertown Taps—Phoenixville. In the heart of Phoenixville, this gastropub features a diverse menu complete with specialty cocktails and its namesake self-pour tap wall. As for the pasta, menu items include tagliatelle duck ragu, bucatini alla carbonara, and agnolotti in a brown butter sauce topped with pepitas.
Rosalie—Wayne. In serving up “Italian soul food,” Rosalie uses seasonal ingredients for authentic cuisine. Menu items include honeynut squash rigatoni, beef cappelletti, and casoncelli made with veal and golden raisins.
Sweet Amelia’s—Kennett Square. This new American spot boasts a unique menu featuring a selection of specialty homemade pastas. The mushroom tortellini honors Kennett Square’s top crop, while additional menu items include goose tortelloni and carrot cavatelli.
Pomod’oro Pizza & Italian Restaurant—Downingtown. Pomod’oro owner Tony Cataldo left Sicily at age 16 with the dream of opening his own restaurant to showcase his family recipes. Now, Chester County foodies are blessed with Pomod’oro’s fresh Italian cuisine made with local ingredients. Menu items include spaghetti alla carbonara, penne alla vodka, and the fan-favorite spaghetti bolognese.
