After sitting empty for nearly two decades, the landmark mosaic-tiled building in Devon that once housed restaurants La Jonquille and Shiraz is now getting new tenants, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer

The owners of the critically acclaimed Salt Korean BBQ in North Wales currently plan on opening a second location on the first floor of the complex, along with a fine-dining Japanese restaurant on the upper floor. Rich Kim, one of the owners, said they aim to open in eight months.

While some of the over-the-top decor will remain, “we’re going to flip it upside down,” said Kim. “People will be wowed.”

Salt II, as the restaurant will be known, will have an open kitchen along with a fresh contemporary look.

Kim has been searching for the ideal location for expansion on the Main Line for some time.

“I was blown away when I saw this,” he said.

The property spans two acres and includes two buildings with a total of 130 parking spaces. Kim also plans to lease the second building, which was formerly home to a spa and an esthetician’s office.
