Malvern Tavern Honors Chester County’s Equestrian Roots

The Jockey Tavern in Malvern honors Chester County’s history of horse racing with chic equestrian-inspired interiors.

The Jockey Tavern in Malvern is celebrating Chester County’s horse racing roots with equestrian-inspired dining, reports Bob Kelly for FOX29 Philadelphia.

The tavern honors the county’s history with horse racing, particularly Malvern’s closeness to the iconic Devon Horse Show and Radnor Hunt. The space boasts warm, barn-inspired interiors with racing memorabilia and riding décor throughout.

Owners Will and Drew Mangan’s father Bill was a horseback rider throughout his youth. Much of the tavern’s décor comes from the family’s personal collection to make the space truly one-of-a-kind.

Now, after opening in late 2024, the family-led operation welcomes fellow horse enthusiasts and local foodies alike.

As for the menu, The Jockey Tavern offers lunch and dinner in addition to a weekend brunch menu. Brunch favorites include the steak and eggs, buttery shrimp and grits, and banana pecan French toast, all of which are $21.

The dinner menu features a wide range of entrees, from burgers to curries to jambalaya. Menu items include short rib au poivre, chicken marsala risotto, and miso salmon & drunken noodles.

But the elevated dining doesn’t end with dinner. The Jockey Tavern also hosts “the Jockey Hour” every day at 3 PM with a full bar of specialty cocktails.

Fan favorite cocktails include the espresso martini and the blood orange cosmo in addition to a wine, beer, and mocktail menu.
