A Man Full of Trouble: Historic Tavern with Cochranville Connection Reopens as New Bar, Tasting Room

Succession Fermentory breathes new life into Philadelphia’s only active Pre-Revolutionary tavern: A Man Full of Trouble.

Succession Fermentory, a farmhouse brewery located in Cochranville, is taking on a new venture, reports staff for ABC7 News

This venture comes in the form of A Man Full of Trouble, located at 127 Spruce Street in Philadelphia. The building is the city’s only active Pre-Revolutionary tavern, originally built in 1759. It has been closed to the public since 1996, until now!  

Succession Fermentory has opened A Man Full of Trouble has a bar and tasting room, complete with 25 seats. Their complete range of farmhouse-made beer and ferments will be available on draft, cask, and in bottle.  

A Man Full of Trouble will also feature some of the greatest sips around Pennsylvania, including high-quality wine and spirits.  

For those who are chomping at the bit to visit this antiquely-new tavern, you’re in luck. Reservations aren’t required, so feel free to stop in at any time during their normal hours of operation.
