A Wayne couple, weary of their dark and outdated condo, transformed the space to highlight vibrant colors and bold personality, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for the Main Line Today.
They started by painting the walls of their open-concept living and dining area a pale beige. While this brightened the space, it fell short of achieving the aesthetic they envisioned. So in order to create a decor that reflected their personalities, they contacted local interior designer Michelle Gage.
Gage added pizzazz to the space with a bubblegum pink sofa and dining chairs upholstered in a vibrant purple peacock print. She painted the kitchen cabinetry in eye-popping chartreuse and installed handmade teal tiles on the backsplash, which created a striking and colorful contrast.
“The cabinets were in good shape but in a very dark wood stain,” said Gage. “Refreshing the space with a great paint color, a new backsplash and countertops was the best way to make an impactful and efficient update to the kitchen and living area without a major renovation.”
In the bedroom, she kept the canopy bed but energized the space by adorning the walls and ceiling with an eye-catching floral print.
