Young Rembrandts Program Fosters Confidence and Skills Through Drawing Lessons

Young Rembrandts of Chester County is an after-school program that helps young students build confidence and skills through art lessons.

Young Rembrandts of Chester County, recently named the Main Line Parent 2025 LOVE Award Winner for Best Art Classes, helps young students build confidence and skills through step-by-step art lessons, according to a staff report from the Main Line Parent

“What makes our program truly special is seeing the transformation in children who never thought they could draw,” said owner Cristina Hartley. “We believe that artistic abilities aren’t determined by age, but by individual development and personal progress. Our program is designed to be inclusive and supportive of students at various skill levels.”

Young Rembrandts’ exclusive focus on drawing, combined with its structured step-by-step method, has made it highly effective as a way to teach visual arts skills.

The program offers a carefully designed curriculum developed over decades that never repeats. Junior Artists ages three to five participate in a three-year program, while elementary students join a six-year track, attending weekly classes with fresh lessons each time.

Each step builds on the last, resulting in clear and visible artistic growth.

“The goal is to see improvement in a child’s work throughout the multi-week session and help them grow their self-confidence in their artistic abilities,” said Hartley.
