Local Family-Run Golf Club Celebrates Forty Years in Business

Phoenixville’s Pickering Valley Golf Club boasts a stunning family-style course with scenic views of Chester County.

Local fan-favorite golf spot Pickering Valley Golf Club recently celebrated four decades in business, reports Bob Kelly for FOX29 Philadelphia.

The family-run business brings scenic views and a relaxing atmosphere to Phoenixville. Owner Ben Thompson’s childhood home is on-site, and the family continues to live there after forty years in business.

The site was originally a dairy farm in the 1950s before its transformation into a golf club. The course features rolling vistas and surrounding greenery for a glimpse of Chester County’s scenic beauty.

While the summer golfing season may be over, the course is open year-round as long as weather permits.

Pickering Valley Golf Club offers standard and VIP membership packages. Standard memberships permit access from Monday to Friday, while VIP members have access to the course seven days per week.

The club is currently offering a bi-annual buy-in deal, where golfers can purchase two years of unlimited golf for $798 ($399 per year).

The club also offers golf lessons for newcomers. Members can find private lessons as well as women’s clinics and junior’s clinics with PGA Professional Rick Osberg.

In addition to its membership options, the course also hosts events throughout the year, including bachelor parties, fundraisers, and athletic tournaments.
