This Year’s ‘A Longwood Christmas’ Promises Bejeweled Holiday Magic

“A Longwood Christmas,” the annual holiday curation by Longwood Gardens, promises a visit of spectacular light displays and stunning nature.

This year’s “A Longwood Christmas” promises Longwood Gardens visitors another year of spectacular holiday magic, writes Andre Lamar for Delaware Online.

The annual holiday display by the world-renowned gardens combines elegant holiday décor with stunning nature. Timed tickets are now available from Nov. 21 through Jan. 11.

Visitors can tour indoor and outdoor displays complete with over half a million twinkling lights. This year’s display takes inspiration from precious jewels and gems, giving the gardens a radiant touch for the holidays.

Outdoors, the Large Lake will feature floating gem décor, and the Wildlife Tree will feature faux pearls and oyster shells.

The Garden Railway will feature miniature trains, and visitors can see dazzling fountain shows set to holiday music at the Open Air Theatre.

Indoors, A Longwood Christmas continues with holiday poinsettias, amaryllis, and paperwhites, in addition to wreathes and holiday trees throughout.

The bejeweled aesthetic continues into The Music Room, where a twelve-foot jewel-encrusted tree sits among holiday banquet scenery. Nearby, The Ballroom features glittering community-decorated trees.

But the holiday magic of A Longwood Christmas doesn’t end with the nature displays. The “Taste of Christmas” dining experience will showcase specialty cuisine and craft beverages in The Fountain Room.

Additionally, the on-site café and beer garden will feature a range of seasonal bites, including local beer and holiday snacks.
