From Halloween parades to Jack-O-Lantern displays, here are four family-friendly Halloween events to add to your calendar this October.
Children’s Night Hayrides at Colonial Gardens—Phoenixville. For just the right amount of age appropriate spookiness, Phoenixville’s Colonial Gardens hosts twenty-minute nighttime hayrides throughout the property’s woods. Tickets are available through Oct. 22, and the $16-$18 admission ticket also includes access to the on-site children’s mazes.
YMCA Trunk or Treat—Kennett Square. Set for Oct. 24 at 6 PM, the Trunk or Treat at the Kennett Area YMCA will feature face painting, trick or treating, s’mores, costumes, and more. Sign-up slots are also still available for the event’s trunk decorating contest.
West Chester Halloween Parade—West Chester. One of the county’s most beloved Halloween events, find festive floats, performances by local marching bands, and goodie bags at the annual West Chester Halloween Parade. While previous parades took place on Wednesday evenings, this year’s parade will take place on Oct. 26 at 1 PM to ease downtown traffic.
Wayne Trick or Treat—Wayne. Set for Oct. 25, the annual Wayne Trick or Treat will feature a lineup of small businesses in downtown Wayne handing out treats from 1-3 PM. The event, organized by the Wayne Business Association, features free admission in addition to food and crafts from participating businesses.
