A Coatesville teenager has transformed his family home into the haunted “Veneziale Manor” just in time for this Halloween season, writes Wakisha Bailey for CBS News Philadelphia.
Sixteen-year-old Joseph Veneziale has spent six months turning his own home into a haunted hotel that will soon be open for visitors. The walk-through haunted attraction features a 1930s-inspired aesthetic with a spooky atmosphere and plenty of scares throughout.
The Veneziale Manor is a family project: Joseph sources props with his father year-round, and his grandparents help built sets and costumes. Joseph’s friends also work as seventeen scare actors throughout the manor.
Last year’s exhibit included a backyard clown tent. This year, the manor features a haunted elevator, a ballroom with moving mannequins, and a speakeasy-inspired cocktail lounge.
For the first time, this year’s display will be open to the public on Oct. 24 and 25. Tickets sell for $5.
But the project goes beyond bringing spooky joy to Joseph’s community. Proceeds from the weekend will go toward The Spirit of Children, a project by Spirit Halloween that partners with local hospitals throughout the region.
