Spooked-Up West Chester Welcomed Thousands for Annual Halloween Parade
Crowds of thousands gathered along the streets to enjoy the annual West Chester Halloween parade, a tradition that spans almost 50 years, writes Dawn Timmeney for FOX29.
The evening showcased local marching bands, a wide variety of floats, and plenty of families in costume.
“Honestly, it’s just fun to come every year,” said Maddox Follet. “It’s tradition. We’ve been doing it a really long time, before I was born.”
Some groups decided to make a whole evening of it, like some friends who ordered food and drinks at Bar Avalon along with front row seats for the parade.
“Quarter to five, we got the table, got dinner,” said Tom McNamara. “It’s just a great community. I mean, look at the street. It’s packed with kids. Awesome time.”
Meanwhile, a group of gal pals decided to join forces and make it a night out for their families.
“It’s a good way to get your mind off of what’s going on in life,” said Verranda Franklin. “Everyone is having issues in the world and having hard times. This tonight is about fun and having a good time.”
