The Lincoln Center for Family and Youth collaborates with school districts, universities, hospitals, police departments, and nonprofit organizations, offering consultation services to secure federal and state grant funding.
The following positions are available:
Part-Time School Climate Coach
Under the supervision of the Chief Clinical Officer and working as a member of the site/program team, the School Climate Coach working at a public school in Norristown develops and implements an effective behavioral intervention and safety plan for students. Performs other related duties as assigned.
Duties & Responsibilities: School Culture Management
• Manages crisis situations and defuses situations using conflict resolution and crisis management techniques.
• Works one-on-one with students to affect behavior changes.
• Reinforces appropriate behaviors and redirects negative behaviors.
• Provides values clarification, including rules, expectations, and consequences.
• Implements consequences for inappropriate behavior with proper training.
• Provides interventions to redirect behavior.
• Implements behavioral programs designed to make positive and appropriate changes.
• Assists school staff by participating as a team member in the development and monitoring of comprehensive behavioral objectives, goals, and plans.
• Develops and implements behavioral interventions within a multi-tier system of supports.
Duties and Responsibilities: Communication/Consultation.
• Works as a team member with teachers and counselors, and other appropriate personnel to establish positive student contacts that develop appropriate and positive behavior modifications enabling students to succeed.
• Provides information to parents, guardians, or other care providers concerning actions of students.
• Ensures consistency of behavioral standards by coordinating with appropriate student Contacts.
• Monitors physical and emotional changes in students and reports to appropriate Personnel.
• Consults with teachers, support staff, and administrators to obtain information and advice on prior behavior problems, and provides information as necessary concerning behavioral concerns.
Duties and Responsibilities: Program/Staff Support
• Maintains a professional rapport with program/site staff.
• Monitors student behavior changes, assisting with academics as directed by a teacher, and supervising various activities during the course of the instructional day to maintain a controlled and safe environment for students and staff.
• Attends IEP (Individualized Education Program) and student progress meetings as requested.
• Maintains awareness of fire drill and lockdown procedures and emergency contingency plan for the school site.
• Implements school emergency procedures as requested.
• Attends and provides training regarding safety, security, physical interventions, and behavior management procedures as requested.
• Oversees recreational activities and other learning opportunities as requested.
• Attends program/site team meetings and various school events, including selected sporting events.

Technical skills:
• Proficient in subject matter taught.

Full-Time Board-Certified Behavior Analyst
The Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) will work with elementary, middle, and/or high school students at a local school district in Norristown to study the behavior of students and create plans to improve or change problematic behaviors; work with students who have developmental disabilities, brain injuries or emotional control, social or behavioral issues; and/or help students manage issues such as stress or anger in healthier ways or achieve personal behavior goals.
This position includes a $1,000 sign-on bonus.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Attend team meetings for the purpose of obtaining and providing information and insight that will assist the daily interaction with specific children.
- Attends meetings and in-service presentations (e.g. first aid, CPR, emergency procedures, crisis prevention, etc.) for the purpose of acquiring and/or conveying information relative to job functions.
- Documents data under the supervision of an assigned teacher or supervisor to support progress monitoring of students.
- Implements under the supervision of an assigned teacher, behavioral plans designed by a team for students with interfering behaviors or other special conditions for the purpose of presenting and/or reinforcing learning concepts.
- Maintains behavioral progress monitoring and/or manual and electronic files/records of each crisis intervention for the purpose of meeting mandated requirements.
- Monitors and responds to crisis and support calls using approved restraints and de-escalation techniques when required for the purpose of ensuring student safety.
- Monitors students during assigned periods within a variety of school environments (e.g. restrooms, playgrounds, hallways, bus loading zones, cafeteria, parking lots, field trips, assemblies, etc.) for the purpose of maintaining a safe and positive learning environment.
- Provides under the supervision of an assigned teacher, practice/review of learned skills to students in a variety of individual and group activities (e.g. academic subjects, social skills, daily living skills, etc.) for the purpose of reinforcing instructional objectives; implementing team plans, and ensuring student success in school.
- Works directly with students (e.g. one-to-one, de-escalating, safety escort, etc.) for the purpose of ensuring student and staff safety.
Skills and Knowledge:
- Successful completion of internship and/or formal training in behavior analysis.
- Applied behavior management and analysis skills.
- Communication, organizational, and interpersonal relations skills.
- Ability to work with a variety of clients in regard to age, functionality, and with minimal direction.
Education and Experience:
- Education: Master’s degree required.
- Certification: Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)® Certification in Pennsylvania is required.

Full-Time School-Based Counselor
The School-Based Counselor in Ardmore will provide early intervention therapy and counseling services in the Coatesville School District, case management and mental health support services at the school/schools and in the homes of at-risk students, and consultation services to school personnel, liaison support to community agencies, in order to meet the requirements of the Coatesville School District’s STOP School Violence Grant.
The multi-year grant, funded by the U.S. Department of Justice, provides funding to improve efforts to reduce crime in K-12 schools and their respective communities.
Duties and Responsibilities: Services to Students
• Identify students in need of trauma support and provide prevention, screening, referral, and treatment services to students potentially in need of services.
• Provide trauma-informed therapy and counseling interventions (group, individual, and/or family) for at-risk students.
• Provide mentoring and other intervention models to children and their families who have experienced trauma or are at risk of experiencing trauma, including those who are low-income, homeless, in foster care, involved in the criminal justice system, unemployed, experiencing a mental illness or substance abuse disorder, or not enrolled in or at risk of dropping out of an educational institution.
• Provide case management for students and families requiring multiple resources.
• Provide quality trauma support and behavioral health care services.
• Provide home-based services to the families of students who have experienced or are at risk of experiencing trauma, including those who are low-income, homeless, involved in the child welfare system, or involved in the juvenile justice system.
Duties and Responsibilities: Services to School Personnel
• Assist teachers with behavior management strategies.
• Provide staff with essential information to better understand factors (cultural, societal, economic, familial, health, etc.) affecting a student’s performance and behavior.
• Train school staff on trauma-informed approaches to education to develop safe, stable, and nurturing learning environments that prevent and mitigate the effects of trauma.
Duties and Responsibilities: Service to Districts
• Provide consultation regarding school law and school policy, including IDEA and Section 504.
• Assist in developing positive behavioral intervention strategies.
• Assist in developing and implementing educational programs, including programs on safety and bullying.
• Develop alternative programs for drop-out, truancy, delinquency, etc.
Duties and Responsibilities: Services to Parents/Families
• Work with parents to facilitate their support in their children’s school adjustment.
• Alleviate family stress to enable the child to function more effectively in school and the community.
• Assist parents in accessing and utilizing school and community resources.
• Work with those problems in a child’s living situation that affect the child’s adjustment in school (home, school, and community).
Duties and Responsibilities: School-Community Liaison
• Obtain and coordinate community resources to meet students’ needs.
• Provide health services and intervention strategies by coordinating the services provided by eligible applicants and coordinated care organizations, public health entities, nonprofit youth service providers, and community-based organizations.
• Foster and promote communication between the school entity, community, and law enforcement.
• Increase access to quality trauma-informed support services and behavioral health care by linking the community with local trauma support and behavioral health systems.
• Help school districts receive adequate support from social and mental health agencies.
• Advocate for new and improved community/school service to meet the needs of students and families.
• Mobilize family, school, and community resources to enable the child to learn as effectively as possible in his or her educational program.
