With late summer on the horizon, August events around Chester County offer residents the perfect way to wrap up the season, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today.
Here are four events taking place across the county this month offering summer fun for all ages.
Dining Out for the Dogs—Exton. At this annual fundraiser by White Dog Café set for Aug. 4, visitors can find specialty treats for their furry friends, including a gourmet hot dog flight and a “pup cake.” Donations benefit Alpha Bravo Canine, a nonprofit organization providing veterans with service animals.
Butterfly Festival—Phoenixville. On Aug. 23, visitors can watch hundreds of butterflies be released at Phoenixville’s Colonial Gardens. Visitors can purchase tickets for a designated release time and enjoy the historic property and local artisans afterward.
West Chester Taps—West Chester. Every Wednesday through Aug. 27, West Chester residents can find discounted beverages and menu items throughout town. From 5-7 PM, enjoy $5 beer, $7 cocktails, and special appetizers at participating restaurants throughout the borough.
Ludwig’s Corner—Glenmoore. From Aug. 30 to Sept. 1, the Horse Show and Country Fair will feature equestrian competition alongside carnival-style rides and games. Now an 82-year-old tradition, the event will include live music, local vendors, food and drink, and carnival games for all ages.
