Soko Bag Brings South Korean-Inspired Fried Chicken to Phoenixville

Started by husband-and-wife duo Shea Roggio and J.H. “Alice” Chang, Soko Bag combines Korean fried chicken with American flare.

Phoenixville’s Soko Bag is bringing authentic South Korean fried chicken to Chester County, writes Ed Williams for Main Line Today.

Started by husband-and-wife duo Shea Roggio and J.H “Alice” Chang, the restaurant offers real Korean flavors and a variety of different dipping sauces and sides.

Roggio shared that the goal with Soko Bag has always been to create a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere with delicious food to serve the neighborhood. The duo carefully designed the interiors to include local art, sports memorabilia, and curated music to warm up the space.

For the Korean fried chicken, patrons can choose from half pound to one-pound bags. Flavors for the chicken include traditional bamboo salt, Ghost cheddar BBQ, white cheddar, 5 Starr sesame, and honey soy garlic.

Each order comes with one dipping sauce, with seven sauce options on the menu. Dipping sauces include gochujang, kimchi aioli, buffalo, cucumber wasabi, and more.

Additionally, large TVs and a full beer menu make the space perfect for game days and group get-togethers.

Looking to the future, Roggio and Chang are looking to franchise Soko Bag. The team is exploring opportunities across the U.S. and abroad to bring delicious food and community connections beyond Phoenixville.
