Grand View Health, located in Sellersville, has reported the largest operating loss in the region during the nine-month period that ended March 31, writes Harold Brubaker for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The health system reported revenue of $207 million during that period, resulting in a loss of $53.3 million, or 26 percent. That figure represents both the largest overall loss and the most significant loss as a percentage of revenue.
Grand View Health has a pending deal for it to be acquired by St. Luke’s University Health Care.
Doylestown Health reported the third-largest operating loss in the region during the nine-month period ended March 31, totaling $23.7 million, or seven percent. That placed it third in terms of both total losses and losses as a percentage of revenue. The health system was recently acquired by the University of Pennsylvania Health System.
Grand View Health and Doylestown Health are two of the three smallest health systems in the Philadelphia region.
The third, Montgomery County’s Redeemer Health, which also has a location in Bensalem, is likewise among the top three for operating losses.
