Malvern resident Amanda Westphal Radcliffe has been named to Forbes Billionaires list, writes Andrew Seidman for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The annual Forbes Billionaires list recognizes the world’s billionaires in order of net worth. Radcliffe was ranked 2,790 on this year’s list of 3,028 billionaires.
Radcliffe, 57, holds a net worth of $1.1 billion as the co-owner of Vertex Inc., a tax software firm based in King of Prussia.
Vertex was started by her father, Ray Westphal, in 1978. Antoinette Westphal, Radcliffe’s mother, was the company’s first employee.
Radcliffe joined the Vertex board in 1993, and has since worked for the company in various roles.
She and her siblings, Jeffrey Westphal and Stefanie Westphal Thompson, purchased Vertex from their parents in 2000. As co-owners, the siblings took the company public in 2020.
Radcliffe and Westphal Thompson each currently own 21 percent of the company. Westphal Thompson was also named to the Forbes Billionaires list this year.
Outside of her contributions to Vertex, Radcliffe is active in foundations and health organizations across the Philadelphia region. She is currently chair emeritus of the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia Foundation Board of Advisors, chair emeritus of Breastcancer.org, and currently serves as president of the Neurodiversity Employment Network of Philadelphia.
