The Domestic Violence Center of Chester County (DVCCC) in Coatesville recently received a $50,000 grant from “Philly Gives,” reports Christie Ileto for 6abc.
DVCCC has been giving support to victims of domestic violence for years now, striving to provide safety and healing.
“Our mission is to provide programs and services for survivors of domestic violence and their dependent children,” said Dolly Wideman-Scott. “It’s in every neighborhood, it’s in every social circle, it’s in communities of faith. It’s a hidden secret, which is why many don’t know that one is impacted by the issue of domestic violence.”
Help is available 24/7 at the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County. Short-term needs are addressed, such as food, clothing, and children services. Long-term housing is provided, as many victims are homeless after fleeing a dangerous situation. The center operates through their fundraising efforts.
With the Philly Gives community-based fund, DVCCC can expand their reach and continue to help survivors.
