High school student Dominick Reyes has combined his personal interests with career readiness as a student at Chester County’s Technical College High School (TCHS), writes staff for Chester County Press.
Reyes is a current student at TCHS’ Pennock Bridge campus in West Grove. He is a part of the Auto Collision program, which provides students with immersive, hands-on learning opportunities to repair actual vehicles damaged in collisions.
Reyes’ interest in automobile repair comes from a family history in the industry. He worked on cars with his grandfather, and his brother, who was also a student at TCHS, now owns a repair shop in Kennett Square.
Now, Reyes is already involved in the same industry, both in school and out. Having already earned his Occupational Safety and Health Administration safety certification, he works at 3D Collision Center writing estimates and repairing vehicles.
With the specialized skill of auto body technicians in high demand, Reyes plans to eventually continue his education at the Automotive Training Center. For his long-term plan, he plans to continue learning from other professionals and working in the industry to apply the skills gained at TCHS to a lifelong career path.
