ChristianaCare has partnered with Emerus Holdings to operate three neighborhood hospitals in Southeastern Pennsylvania, including the one currently being developed in West Grove, according to a staff report from the Chester County Press.
“ChristianaCare is reimagining health care with a focus on delivering the right care, in the right place and time, with the right health care team involved for every patient,” said Janice Nevin, president and CEO. “Neighborhood hospitals will enable us to provide access to high-quality care in a way that is sustainable and right-sized to meet the needs of local communities.”
In addition to the Chester County one, the hospital network will also develop two new neighborhood hospitals in Delaware County.
Each hospital will operate 24/7 with about ten inpatient beds and a full-service emergency department to treat common emergencies like falls, injuries, heart attacks, and strokes. The hospitals will also have diagnostic capabilities, such as ultrasound, CT, X-ray, and laboratory services. Each location will add a wellness center with a variety of outpatient services, developed based on community needs.
Using virtual consults, the hospitals will be able to take advantage of ChristianaCare’s large network of specialists and support services.
