Throughout Chester County, there are numerous well-known and well-loved restaurants that belong on your bucket list of places to cross off, writes William Zimmerman for PhillyBite Magazine.
Here’s their top five list of Chester County restaurants:
The Whip Tavern in Coatesville: The Whip serves up British pub fare such as fish and chips and shepherd’s pie. Additionally, it sources ingredients locally to ensure the taste of the county shows in every meal. It’s known for its inviting atmosphere and craft beer selection.
Birchrunville Store Cafe in Birchrunville: This fine dining experience is amplified by its seasonal farm-to-table cuisine. Housed within the historic general store, it offers French and Italian foods with items such as frog legs, escargot, venison, and fish.
Talula’s Table in Kennett Square: It’s a unique culinary excursion at Talula’s Table. Reservations are recommended to attend this intimate setting since they are booked out a year in advance sometimes. There are only two tables: The Farm Table and the Nook Table.
Levante Brewing Company in West Chester: Levante is known for its lively atmosphere and catering to the local beer community. Its wide array of handcrafted beverages are a hit for beer lovers. The taproom and outdoor beer garden also draw crowds.
Hank’s Place in Chadds Ford: This classic diner has been serving hearty breakfasts and warm plates for decades. While currently located in Kennett Square, Hank’s plans to return to its birthplace of Chadds Ford after restaurant renovations.
