Comcast Spectacor and The Cordish Companies recently unveiled updates plans for a $15 million new plaza outside Xfinity Live! at the South Philadelphia Sports Complex, writes Paul Schwedelson for the Philadelphia Business Journal.
The renovation features a number of facilities, such as an open-air beer garden, Crush Bar, and a major outdoor expansion of PBR Cowboy Bar. The latter will also have a backyard area and stage.
Plans are also in place to upgrade the turf area for activities and community activations.
“This investment reflects our commitment to create a gathering space for festivals, sports viewing, and community events unlike anything in the area,” Cordish Cos. Principal Blake Cordish said in a press release. “We look forward to offering an enhanced experience that will continue to make Xfinity Live! the heart of Philadelphia’s Sports Complex for years to come.”
The partners originally announced the launch of a new $12 million renovation of Xfinity Live! back in February. The renovations are part of a larger $2.5 billion plan to overall the entire stadium district.
The final result would be a mixed-use destination with a concert venue, hotel, restaurants, retail shops, and residential and office space.
The entire project is estimated to be completed in early 2026.
