Here’s How This Exton Development is Reclaiming Nature
Keva Flats, the luxury apartment project in Exton by Hankin Group, includes a $2.4 million floodplain restoration as a foundational part of the development, writes Ben Silver for the Main Line Today.
The project already has 242 luxury units, with another 96 units expected to be added when Phase II of the development is completed in the fall of next year. But while these apartments are the main feature of the multimillion-dollar project, the floodplain restoration is its heart that will benefit residents, West Whiteland Township, local developers, and the Hankin Group.
“This project is a triple win for us,” said John Weller, the director of planning and zoning for West Whiteland Township. “Stormwater control, floodplain management, and stream water quality are all major concerns for the Township as they have a direct impact on our residents’ quality of life.”
Hankin Group’s floodplain restoration addresses all of these issues “but also adds more local housing and improves our community’s environmental resiliency,” he added.
Public beautification of the included area is also an obvious benefit for local residents, who will get to see nature reclaim its natural boundaries while also helping deal with stormwater.
