Hotel Indigo West Chester, a new luxury hotel from InterContinental Hotels Group which has locations around the world, is set to open in downtown West Chester early next year, writes Victoria Rose for Main Line Tonight.

The property has been in the works for months and is designed to reflect the culture, history, and architecture of West Chester.

With 108 rooms, the hotel will offer a seafood restaurant, 1,100 square feet of meeting space, dog-friendly accommodations, and fabulous artwork. Bookings will start in March 2025.

“The Indigo brand is focused on local, offering a sense of neighborhood and community,” said Christopher Berg, VP of Operations for Onix Hospitality. “It’s our goal is to help ensure that each guest walking through our doors feels comfortable, cared for, a part of the family.”

Berg said everything from the ground to the sixth floor is meticulously designed. Interior decor will feature portraits of Frederick Douglass, who gave his final public speech at West Chester University in 1895, a large clockface mosaic, images and quotes from local figures, and anything that makes up the history of the town.

Additionally, there are closet door handles with a golden ram symbol on them.

Hotel Indigo aims to meet the growing demand for accommodations in West Chester, especially during events like the West Chester Christmas Parade, West Chester Film Festival, and for those traveling to the university.
