Malvern Father a Fan Favorite on First Season of ‘The Golden Bachelorette’
Charles L. of Malvern has become a fan favorite on the first season of ABC’s The Golden Bachelorette thanks to his wholesome disposition and strong ‘dad vibes,’ writes Emily Bloch for The Philadelphia Inquirer.
The 66-year-old retired financial analyst grew up in rural China before moving to the United States. The father of two, whose full name is Charles Ling, is looking for a second chance at love. And fans are finding him adorable.
Since the show premiered on Sept. 18, with 61-year-old Joan Vassos as the star and a group of 24 potential suitors, Ling has managed to capture the hearts of the audience. Even Jesse Palmer, the show’s host, referred to Ling as “a national treasure” in a recent interview.
“I totally get why America has fallen so hard for Charles L.,” said Palmer. “He’s legendary. I love the guy.”
Fans have been gushing about Ling’s sweet temperament and humor on various social media sites, as well as his hope to find love again after his wife died six years ago.
One fan from Malvern said she would “just die” if she ran into the contestant at her local Wegmans.
