Phoenixville Nurse Joins Castaways on Season 47 of ‘Survivor’

Sierra Wright from Phoenixville.

Season 47 of Survivor is set to premiere on Sept. 18, featuring 18 new contestants in Fiji, including one with local connections: Sierra Wright from Phoenixville, writes Franki Rudnesky for Philly Voice.

Hosted by Jeff Probst, the reality show challenges contestants in physical and mental competitions for a $1 million prize.

Wright is 27-years-old and originally from Wilmington, Delaware. She moved to Phoenixville and now works as an ICU nurse for ChristianaCare. She has degrees from West Chester University and the University of Delaware. One of Wright’s previous occupations was working for West Chester-based QVC.

In addition to these titles, she was a Phillies ball girl and won the Miss Delaware USA pageant in 2018. Along with these accomplishments, Wright wants to be seen as more than a pageant queen; she wants to show off her skills on Survivor.

Everyone has something motivating them to get through this show, and for Wright, it’s her father.

For the past few years, her dad has been surviving his own battle as he undergoes chemotherapy and blood transfusions to fight cancer.

“His last few words to me were just like, ‘Go get ’em, bud, bring it home and come home a millionaire.’ And that’s what I’m going to do,” she said.

The season will air on CBS at 8 PM and stream on Paramount+.
