Dunwoody Village Team Members Awarded Scholarships
Dunwoody Village announces that several of its dedicated team members have recently been awarded scholarships and have been selected for leadership development opportunities.
These achievements highlight the commitment to excellence, education, and professional growth by both the individuals and the organization.
The recipients of these scholarships and leadership programs come from various departments, reflecting the diverse talent and dedication across the entire Dunwoody Village community. These opportunities enable team members to further their education, develop new skills, and take on greater responsibilities within the organization.
- Lindsay Sokorai, Wait Staff and Activities Assistant and Sheila Petit, LPN, each received scholarships as part of LeadingAge PA’s 2024 Professional Development Scholarship Program.
The scholarships are granted to staff members of LeadingAge PA member organizations statewide, supporting the pursuit of various degrees, certifications, and continuing education opportunities.
Applicants were evaluated and selected based on submitted personal statements, professional references, and a demonstrated commitment to advancing careers within aging services.
- Lori Steward and Marquis Branson were selected to participate in the 12th Cohort of the FSA | Friends Service Alliance Leadership Institute. Lori is social services manager and Marquis is dining supervisor.
This five-month in-depth experiential learning opportunity is given to current and emerging senior leaders in organizations that embrace Quaker values of presence, connection and listening.
Every year, Dunwoody Village and the Dunwoody Village Residents’ Association partner to provide scholarships to team members pursuing higher education.
- This year, 21 high-school seniors and college students were awarded scholarships. They are: Abby Gerhard, Alexa Barker,Alexis Jones, Benjamin Maitre, Brock Green, Catharine (Catie) McDevitt, Christine (Cece) Perkins, Daryus Brown-Stokes, Jossy Pineda, Karla (Dani) Sotomayor-Alvarez, Kaylynn Kudel, Keyanna Nurse, Leah Boyce, Leo (Patrick) Weishew, Lindsay Sokorai, Marquis Jean-Baptiste, Mia Scotti, Nicholas (Nick) Damasco, Nina Clinton, Ryan Fazio, and Tairi Ketner.
