Dunwoody Village has been recognized by U.S. News and World Report as a Best Nursing Home for 2021-22.

According to the US News Ratings, the William Hood Dunwoody Care Center has a rating of “High Performing” – the highest possible rating – for both its short-term rehabilitation and long-term care.

The U.S. News badge is a widely recognized symbol of excellence in U.S. healthcare that is awarded by an unbiased trust agent.

Of more than 15,000 skilled nursing facilities from across the U.S. that were evaluated by U.S. News, barely 2,000, or 13%, earned even a single High-Performing rating.

“I am so proud of the work our team members do every single day to provide the best care for our residents,” stated Maureen Casey, President and CEO of Dunwoody Village. “We strive for excellence throughout our entire community, and this recognition affirms our dedication to maintaining the highest standards in our industry.”

Ratings were determined based on homes meeting certain standards of patient safety, including staff COVID-19 vaccination rates, frequency of use of antipsychotic drugs and number of visits to emergency rooms, among other criteria.

“U.S. News takes pride in providing relevant, up-to-date information when making any sort of health care decision,” says Zach Adams, health data engineer at U.S. News. “Profiles now include resident and staff COVID-19 vaccination rates alongside information on how to pay for a facility. This important information can help families, residents and caregivers make a decision that keeps safety and accessibility at the highest priority.”

U.S. News & World Report is the global leader in quality rankings that empower citizens, consumers, business leaders and policy officials to make better, more informed decisions about important issues affecting their lives.

Dunwoody Village is a five-star quality rated not-for-profit continuing care retirement community located on 83 acres in Newtown Square.

It offers residents independent living, personal care, skilled nursing and memory support, as well as short-term rehabilitation and home care to both residents and the outside community.
