Deborah Ann Mack Opens Brick-and-Mortar Store for Bespoke Women’s Fashion in West Chester
In August, designer Deborah Ann Mack had a ribbon-cutting event to open her first brick-and-mortar location in West Chester called DAM Fashions, writes Jalyn Green for 6ABC.
Mack makes custom, one-of-a-kind pieces that are tailored specifically to each client. She was inspired to hop onboard with bespoke creations after designing a custom-made dress for someone and knew she found her niche.
“I just love to design and create,” said Mack,”and just make beautiful clothes that are going to make women feel beautiful.”
The process with her pieces starts with measurements of the client, digitizing onto a model, and then creation. She takes great care to point out what materials she uses, such as sustainable lining that cools in the summer and warms in the winter for her coats.
In addition to her customs, Mack also has an accessory like for the retail part of her store with belts, handbags, and hats to match her items. Within the tags of her items is a bee symbol that works as part of her logo, and the bee theme can also be seen on her online shop. Deborah means “bee,” and it’s her way of making sure her clients think of her when they wear her clothes.
Mack had loved to sew when she was growing up in high school and college. While she didn’t have a degree in fashion, she found her true passion in designing clothing for women to feel sophisticated and lovely in.
