Livability ranks West Chester 49th among the 100 Best Places to Live in America.

One of Chester County’s boroughs is among the 100 Best Places to Live in America, according to new rankings from Livability.

Livability analyzed more than 1,000 small to mid-sized cities on factors such as safety, affordability, economic stability, outdoor recreation, accessibility, and community engagement.

West Chester placed 49th.

The charming, historic borough is vibrant and full of life, thanks in part to the presence of West Chester University and its students and faculty.

West Chester has a historic downtown, excellent healthcare offerings, and great schools, which makes it appealing to both retirees and young families.

Top employers nearby include the finance, retail, healthcare, education, and transportation and logistics industries.

There are also plenty of options for outdoor activities, while those looking for indoor entertainment can catch a show at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center.

Excellent dining and drinking options abound, including spots like Limoncello, which offers authentic Italian cuisine, Más Mexicali Cantina, a rooftop bar with views of downtown, and Levante Brewing Company.
