Last week, The Arc of Chester County graduated a class of 10 preschool students who will soon be on their way to kindergarten and the next chapter in their educational journey.
The Arc of Chester County has been providing quality early learning for more than six decades. Its inclusive preschool program where children with and without disabilities learn side-by-side is helping children to excel academically and socially. In The Arc’s inclusive classroom setting, everyone benefits by making the largest gains in skills. Studies have shown that inclusive classrooms develop future leaders, meaningful relationships, and set students on the path for the utmost success.
Connor is one of these amazing graduates who started at The Arc of Chester County’s Preschool three years ago. During his time at The Arc, he has flourished while mastering several important developmental milestones. With the help of his verbal output device, he has built many new friendships with classmates and relationships with his teacher and therapists.
“We share with our families that graduating from our Preschool can be a very emotional and bittersweet occasion,” said Kera Swift-Josey, Senior Director of Programs and Services. “We comfort them by letting them know that The Arc will always be here for their child and their family — that we offer services that span a lifetime of needs and supports and we look forward to seeing them again.”
