Berwyn-Based Playfly Sports Adjusts Leadership to Keep Company on Continued Rise

CEO Mike Schreiber, the company’s founder, right, will move to the position of executive chairman. Craig Sloan will move from president to CEO position on Sept. 1.

Berwyn-based Playfly Sports is hoping that the recent changes in leadership will ensure that the four-year-old agency will continue its rapid growth, writes Ethan Joyce for the Philadelphia Business Journal

CEO Mike Schreiber, the company’s founder, will move to the position of executive chairman. Craig Sloan will move from president to CEO position on Sept. 1.

The company has four key business divisions, including media, properties, technology, and global partnerships. During its existence, Playfly has acquired over ten companies and has seen its workforce grow to over 1,000. The agency focuses on marketing and media in professional and college sports.

“It’s just been an incredible growth trajectory,” said Sloan. “And our intention is to actually accelerate growth now.”

Both executives agreed that these shifts aligned with their backgrounds, as Schreiber has been focusing on deal-making and Sloan is a recognized leader.

Instead of backfilling his old position, Sloan said he plans to allow his four division heads to run their respective verticals.

“The time was right, especially given the strength of our executive team, for a transition to help Playfly unlock its limitless potential and continue leading the industry with our proprietary data-driven approach,” said Schreiber.
