Crow’s Nest Preserve is True Hidden Gem in Chester County

Crow’s Nest Preserve, one of Natural Land’s nature preserves not far from French Creek State Park in Elverson, is a true hidden gem in Chester County, writes Courtney Diener-Stokes for The Daily Local News.

The 712-acre preserve is often so quiet that visitors can feel like they have it all to themselves. It is also an ideal place for birding and exploring the seasonal plant life along the trails, as well as observing local wildlife that is bound to make an appearance.

As a bonus, the preserve is home to NaturePlayGround, a perfect spot for unstructured play and exploration for little ones.

For true nature lovers, Crow’s Nest Preserve offers the chance to volunteer on Wednesday, June 5. The activities will include removing invasives, nurturing native plants, and restoring habitat. Through it all, volunteers will get a hands-on education that will broaden their horizons about the natural world.

“Participants can expect to get a little dirty, laugh a lot, meet like-minded people who care about the natural world, and learn about the project they’ll be working on,” said Kit Werner, Senior Director of Communications at Natural Lands.
