Chester County Dental Practices that are Changing the Future of Dentistry with Innovative Methods

At these two Chester County dental practices, comfort, relaxation, and efficiency are top priorities.

Two Chester County dental practices are leading with innovative strategies, writes Gina Lizzo for Main Line Today.

In 2022, Dr. Gulia Omene decided it was time to upgrade her practice which was originally started in the 1950s.

The practice, now called Main Line Dental Club, is in Paoli. The new office space is warm and inviting, with earthly neutral tones splashed on the walls.

“We really wanted the new space to evoke feelings of calm and relaxation,” said Omene. “We wanted patients to feel like they were at a spa or a social club, instead of a dental office.”

At Main Line Dental Club, massage chairs are used for anxious patients. During any form of dental treatment, the club used TVs and noise-canceling headphones as distractions for their patients. They also offer comfort items such as weighted blankets, under-eye masks, and sparkling water.

Another innovative dentist, Dr. Ryan Dunn, of Chester County Family Dentistry, swears by Waterlase, a form of laser dentistry that translates to less time in the chair, more precision, quicker recovery times, and far less pain than traditional treatments. The technology is similar to an iPad in size and functionality.

The West Chester-based practice treats patients in a day, whereas before Waterlase, these procedures could take several visits over the course of weeks.

“The patient’s happier because we’re handling it all in one place, and the healing is much quicker,” said Dunn.
