West Chester and its surrounding areas are known for their vibrant music scene, and this summer, the stage is set for an electrifying celebration of local talent.

The Taylor-Made at Uptown! Singer-Songwriter Contest, a collaborative effort between Taylor’s Music Store and Studios and Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center, promises to showcase the unique voices and original compositions of solo musical artists.

Scheduled from May 1 to June 1st, 2024, the submission period beckons aspiring singer-songwriters, aged 16 and above, to step into the limelight.

With a Grand Prize of a $1000 Gift Certificate to Taylor’s Music Store and Studios, a $250 credit towards a recording studio session at TribeSound Productions, and the opportunity to open for an artist at Uptown, Four complimentary tickets to Uptown and Gift Bag, the stakes are high.

The submission process is straightforward. Entrants are required to submit a YouTube link featuring their original performance piece, under three minutes in length, showcasing their prowess in songwriting and musical execution.

With only 40 spots available for initial submissions, seize the opportunity and let your talent shine.

Following the submissions, a committee will meticulously adjudicate to identify the top 9 acts. These finalists will have preliminary performances at Uptown! Knauer Performing Arts Center on July 10th, 17th, and 24th. Each event will witness three acts vying for audience favor, with two advancing to the grand finale.

The final showdown on August 7th will see the top 6 contestants facing off before a panel of esteemed judges. Originality, musicianship, stage presence, and creativity will be under scrutiny as they vie for the coveted title of the 2024 Taylor-Made at Uptown! Singer-Songwriter winner.
