Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is Proud To Be An Eagle and Ready To Get To Work

Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is following in his father's footsteps as he prepares to begin his professional career with the Philadelphia Eagles.

While Jeremiah Trotter Jr. is one of the newer members of the Philadelphia Eagles, he has a relatively long history with the team, writes Reuben Frank for NBC Sports Philadelphia

When his father, Jeremiah Trotter Sr., was a member of the team during two separate stints in the late 1990s and 2000s, Trotter Jr. often joined him at the NovaCare Complex and Lincoln Financial Field.

“I feel like God really blessed me to have the opportunity to play here… I know the area, I know the team, I pretty much knew the facility … so it worked out really well,” he said.

Just like his father, Trotter Jr. will wear the No. 54 with the Eagles.

As training camp gets closer, it remains unclear what role Trotter Jr. will have during his rookie season.

His focus, however, is clear.

“I’m just focused on what I can control and that’s just me coming in and trying to be the best player I can, learning the defense, making sure I know what I’m doing and just being a good teammate,” he said. “I’m just looking to help the team however I can. Whatever role I’m put in, that’s the role I’m going to put 100 percent effort in.”
