Bench in Stroud Preserve Honors Memory of Great Valley High School Student

Everett Beauregard, a 23-year-old Great Valley High School graduate, has a bench in Stroud Preserve honored in his memory.

Everett Beauregard, a 23-year-old Great Valley High School graduate and Temple University student, now has a bench in Stroud Preserve honored in his memory after he was killed in September 2022, writes Michael P. Rellahan for The Daily Local News.

Beauregard was sadly shot and killed in Philadelphia and the case remains open as no arrests have been made. Meanwhile, the bench serves as a place of remembrance and a way to announce the family’s Everett Beauregard Foundation. The foundation supports at-risk youth, especially people who have been impacted by gun violence.

Thanks to over 100 donations, the bench sits under a sycamore tree in the preserve where Beauregard volunteered during the COVID-19 pandemic. He enjoyed hiking, walking, and spending time bird-watching while there.

“We know he really loved that preserve,” said Beauregard’s father, Eric.

Beauregard’s parents hiked around the preserve until they found the spot they knew would honor him.

“As we come here to walk these paths and rest on this bench we’ll think of him – the son, the brother, the friend, the nephew, the cousin,” said Leslie, Beauregard’s mother, “and maybe we’ll forget for a minute what we have lost and be reminded of what we had.”
