Design Life Kids, a new shop in Westtown, directly caters to kids’ fashion, toys and games, furniture, and more, writes Bill Rettew for The Daily Local News.

Opened on April 5 by owner Kim Wardell and her 10 employees, Design Life Kids focuses on choosing high-quality and sustainable brands that she often brings from around the world. Her hope is that these pieces can last and become heirlooms.

“I don’t buy anything I wouldn’t want. I want to find beautiful things that we can all enjoy,” said Wardell.

Tragedy struck when her husband passed, and after a while, she created an online shop that has blossomed into its first brick-and-mortar location today. Crescent moons are featured around the store and on some merchandise in honor of her husband, who she refers to as “skateboarding on the moon” to her two daughters.

“I like waiting on kids,” said daughter Maria Wardell. “It’s fun to be around them. I grew up really fast and watching kids have fun is really nice.”

The shop carries a variety of clothing for ages 0-16. Household items include decor for bedrooms, colorful toys, beauty supplies, and anything else a child could dream of.
