For Chester County District Attorney de Barrena-Sarobe, First Five Months in Office Have Been Very Busy
Chris de Barrena-Sarobe has been very busy since he took over as Chester County District Attorney five months ago, writes Michael P. Rellahan for The Daily Local News.
He found that the office was not the same place he left in 2015 to become a federal prosecutor. It took him some time to adjust to the changes, including the process of prosecuting a case that has evolved over the last nine years.
He also implemented some changes of his own. He reorganized the top administrative staff and started the process of filling vacancies for trial attorneys. de Barrena-Sarobe also oversaw the transition to a new set of guidelines for sentencing defendants and implemented a new case management system.
Through it all, he found time to get to know the many organizations working in the community.
“I am trying to take one goal at a time, and work day-by-day right now,” he said. “But the question to keep in mind is what the ultimate goal is. I want this office a year from now to be an example of what a modern, mid-sized D.A.’s office looks like in this state.”
