Springfield native Megan Todaro is a Project Engineer at Pennoni Associates, where she represents multiple municipalities in both Chester County and Delaware County as their appointed Engineer.

“I am responsible for reviewing proposed projects submitted to the municipalities and designing and managing capital projects that are a part of their long-term strategic plan,” said Todaro. “What I enjoy most about my job is the variety of projects. Whether it is designing a municipal playground or reviewing sanitary pipe networks, this allows me to take a holistic viewpoint to my work and ensure that these projects fit within the larger strategy the municipally has in place.”

Todaro began working for her dad at his medical equipment distribution business at the age of 14, where she assisted in inventory management and supply-chain logistics. She graduated from Springfield High School in 2011 and attended The College of New Jersey, earning her bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering. Todaro also earned her master’s degree in Civil Engineering from Villanova University.

Todaro credits Joe Viscuso, Municipal Engineer and Strategic Growth Manager at Pennoni, with significantly impacting her career.

“I have had the opportunity to work with Joe for the past nine years, where he has led by example and, when earned, delegated responsibility to help me flourish in my career,” said Todaro. “The countless hours of office meetings to phone calls have not only made me a better engineer but have also made me a better person.”

Over the course of her career so far, Todaro is most proud of being given the autonomy to manage a project from initial planning meetings to final site walkthroughs.

“This has given me the ability and confidence to manage multiple projects for Pennoni,” said Todaro.

Todaro’s favorite Chester County restaurants are Dolce Zola for dinner and Dia Dolce cupcakes for dessert.

Todaro and the rest of the 2024 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 9 at Penn State Great Valley, Malvern.
