2022 VISTA Millennial Superstars: Abbey Gau

By

Hershey native Abbey Gau is a Marketing Communications Specialist at Longwood Gardens, where she assists in the development and coordination of all marketing communications initiatives and “gets to share the beauty of the Gardens with people from all over the world every day.”

Gau, who began working when she was 16 years old at Hershey’s Chocolate World, earned a bachelor’s degree in Communications from Millersville University. She credits one of her professors with having the biggest impact on her career.

“My Communications professor, Dr. Theresa Russell-Loretz, was very influential in guiding me towards my path to public relations,” said Gau.

Her proudest professional achievement was being named the 2018 Volunteer of the Year by the Southern Chester County Chamber of Commerce.

“I truly enjoy sharing my time and expertise with an organization that is committed to leading, giving, and serving our community,” said Gau. “It was an honor to be recognized by such an incredible organization.”

Her favorite restaurant in Chester County is the Station Taproom in Downingtown.

Gau and the rest of the 2022 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration held outdoors on Tuesday, May 10 at Penn State Great Valley. The in-person event will feature food trucks, drinks, touchless registration, a VIP tent, and boundless opportunities to network. It will also be live-streamed.

Sponsors are still being sought. Click here to learn more about the various opportunities available to partner with VISTA Today as it celebrates Chester County’s next generation of leaders.
