Family Service of Chester County is gearing up for an impactful April as it recognizes Child Abuse Prevention Month with its Pinwheels for Prevention campaign.

The goal is to raise $20,000 for its child abuse prevention program. With every dollar raised, Family Service will create a massive pinwheel garden at its N. Matlack St office.

While Chester County is safe in many ways, child abuse and neglect is still a real issue within our community.

In the last year, The Exchange Club Family Center assisted 112 families in need throughout Chester County.

Through their efforts they secured safer housing, alleviated food insecurity, promoted financial self-sufficiency, and provided essential resources such as clothing, diapers, school supplies, cleaning supplies, and more to foster healthier and more stable households.

The Pinwheels for Prevention campaign is more than just a fundraiser; it’s a symbol of Family Service’s commitment to create a community where every child is safe, nurtured, and protected.

Pinwheel gardens popping up around Chester County represent its dedication to promoting healthy family dynamics and advocating for public policies that prioritize prevention efforts right from the start.

It serves as a reminder that by investing in prevention and early intervention strategies, we can create a world where child abuse and neglect are rare occurrences.

Family Service of Chester County, believes that getting it right early is not only morally imperative but also more cost-effective than trying to fix problems later on.

By focusing on community activities that support families and implementing evidence-based prevention programs, we can break the cycle of abuse and ensure that children grow up in safe and nurturing environments.

Throughout April, Family Services encourages everyone to join them in spreading awareness about child abuse prevention.
