The Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board’s latest annual report is here, and the results indicate that Pennsylvanians could be losing their taste for Fireball, the top-selling cinnamon whiskey, writes Michael Klein for The Philadelphia Inquirer.

The report covers the period from July 2022 through June 2023. It shows that the tiny bottles of booze – the 50 mL, 99-cent screw-tops – were the top sellers with the PLBC for the fifth year in a row. Such bottles represented six out of ten best-selling spirit items.

Overall, Fireball sales fell from 4.63 million units to 4.08 million, compared to the same period last year. Other mini brands, including New Amsterdam Vodka and 99 Long Island Iced Tea Schnapps, showed increases.

Among the regular bottles, Tito’s vodka is the most popular, as is the significantly less expensive Crown Russe vodka.

Among wines, La Marca Prosecco once again came out on top with a ten percent increase in sales. Cavit Pinot Grigio was again in second place, while Josh Cellars Cabernet Sauvignon came in third.

The county that bought the most alcohol was Allegheny, followed by Philadelphia, Montgomery, Bucks, Chester, and Delaware.
