St. Patrick’s Day is just days away, and Philadelphia is never short on restaurants and bars to get you in the Irish spirit, writes Maddy Sweitzer-Lamme and Sarah Maiellano for Philadelphia Magazine. 

For starters, there’s McGillin’s Olde Ale House in Midtown Village. One of Philadelphia’s oldest taverns with over 140 years of history, McGillin’s always gussies up with green lights, green garland, green more, and more green stuff for St. Patrick’s Day.

In Queen’s Village, there’s Bridget Foy’s. On its menu, customers can find Guinness beef stew, corned beef and cabbage, Irish apple cake, Irish potatoes, and Bassett’s Irish coffee ice cream, among other selections. Its bar menu features a special Jameson Manhattan, Irish whiskey flights, Guinness stout, Irish red ale, and more.

Also in Midtown Village, Fergie’s is Philadelphia’s favorite Irish pub, and usually hosts a ton of live music on St. Patrick’s Day. The same can be said about Tír Na nÓg in Center City, as live music can be heard throughout the week from the parade to the actual holiday.

Meanwhile, Finn McCool’s will be serving Green Tea Shots, a green-tinged combo of whiskey, peach schnapps, and sour mix.
