When Finn McConnell had to spend the first 99 days of his life in the NICU, his parents relied on an Angel Eye Camera.

Finn McConnell was born prematurely at 27 weeks and 6 days at Paoli Hospital and spent the first 99 days of his life in the NICU, writes Matteo Iadonisi for 6ABC.

Finn’s parents were able to make use of the ‘Angel Eye’ camera, which made all the difference during their son’s NICU stay. The camera was created by Angel Eye Health and allows parents to watch a live feed of their baby. Parents access the camera through an app on their phones.

“Having that ability to be there with Finn in the NICU without physically being there was hugely important,” said Finn’s mother, Lauren McConnell. Thankfully, he is now a healthy and happy baby as he approaches his first birthday.

The Superhero Project, founded by Kelly Gallagher, is a nonprofit organization that works with hospitals, helping them to secure the funding needed to obtain Angel Eye cameras.

“These cameras help parents see their babies 24/7.” Gallagher said. “It takes a village to help a NICU family.”
