Lauren Nehra, who was born in Easton and grew up in the Lehigh Valley area, is an Attorney at Gawthrop Greenwood. There, she routinely handles cases involving contract disputes, landlord/tenant matters, breaches of fiduciary duty, estate litigation, guardianships, and other Orphans’ Court/Chancery Court litigation.

“I’m proud of the fact that I graduated from law school magna cum laude while working full-time as a paralegal and law clerk and attending law school at night,” said Nehra. “I apply the same dedication, hard work, and attention I did then to my clients’ legal situations now. What I enjoy most about my job is being able to help people by listening to my clients’ needs and concerns and finding the best way to achieve a favorable outcome that works for them.”

Nehra’s earliest jobs include babysitting and working at an ice cream shop in high school. Nehra graduated from high school in 2004, and after graduation, she moved to West Chester to begin her undergrad at West Chester University, majoring in Criminal Justice and minoring in Political Science and Communications.

“I graduated from WCU in 2008 summa cum laude and began working as a paralegal,” she said. “I worked in various law firms and government agencies in Pennsylvania and Delaware for the next 10 years until I decided to become an attorney myself. At night, I began pursuing my Juris Doctor degree at Widener University Delaware Law School in Wilmington while continuing to work full-time during the day as a paralegal and, later, a law clerk.”

Other than family members, Nehra credits her friends with having the biggest impact on her career.

“My friends — in particular Seth, Mike, and Dave — encouraged me while I was a paralegal to go to and work hard through law school,” she said. “They really spurred me to start law school and encouraged me throughout the process of graduating and becoming an attorney.”

On that same note, Nehra’s proudest professional achievement is passing the Pennsylvania bar exam and officially becoming a lawyer.

“You work so hard for years in law school and while studying for the bar exam — all with the goal of seeing your name on the ‘PASSED’ list,” she said. “I still remember the day I achieved this like it was yesterday, and there’s been no feeling quite like it since!”

Nehra’s favorite dining places in Chester County are La Sponda in Downingtown and Fattoush in Malvern.

Nehra and the rest of the 2024 Class of VISTA Millennial Superstars will be honored at the Awards Reception & Celebration on Thursday, May 9 at Penn State Great Valley.
