West Chester Fashionista Shares Her Fashion Roots, Source for Unexpected Fashion Ideas
West Chester native Danielle Hawkins learned about fashion at an early age thanks to her mother who was a seamstress, writes Eileen Smith Dallabrida for Main Line Today.
“She emphasized the art of fashion and encouraged me to select colors that complement my skin tone and hair color,” said the fashionista. “She also was gifted in her ability to put together an outfit and accessorize. My knowledge and appreciation for fashion are rooted in my experiences with her.”
These days, Hawkins sometimes looks to her children for unexpected fashion ideas.
“As assistant human resources director for the Chester County Intermediate Unit, I occasionally notice the denim trends of the students—plus, I have four children,” she said. “At first, I think, ‘That looks great on them, but I probably wouldn’t wear that.’ In a few weeks, I find myself buying that same cut or style.”
She also offered a makeup tip every woman could appreciate.
“Cream eyeshadow sticks,” she said. “It doesn’t wear off, and I carry it with me for an easy reapply if I need a refresh after a long day.”
